Greif-Velox on course for growth: Our new site in the US is operational!

Company structure & markets GREIF-VELOX

As the market and innovation leader for full-line packaging machines for solids, powders and liquids, we are very active internationally: Greif-Velox Germany currently supplies customers in 89 countries. A new location in the USA has now been added as a milestone on the path to internationalization: Greif-Velox America, LLC as a regional sales and service company. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Greif-Velox Germany and is based in Sacramento, California.

High customer demand in the USA

"Our individual, exclusive solutions, such as our vacuum bagging, are also highly relevant internationally," says Ralf Drews, CEO of Greif-Velox. "Demand is particularly high on the American market." Although the United States is the world's largest market for packaging machines, American manufacturers cannot meet domestic demand for high-quality machines.

Machines meet the requirements of the American market

This is where we score points: Greif-Velox not only offers innovations in the field of vacuum bagging. Machines such as the BVP 4.40 air packer are a perfect fit for the requirements of American customers: They can safely process a wide range of packaging styles even with short changeover times and enable quick product, quantity and format changes. This is particularly important for the expanding American food industry, for which food safety is a major issue, among other things.

Closer to the customer directly on site

More than 30 of our systems are already installed in the USA. Many of our internationally active customers operate factories in North and South America in addition to Europe and Asia - so it is only a logical step to now also have a local regional sales and service company. This way we can respond even better to our American customers. "With this internationalization strategy, we show that we listen to our customers and develop our machines and organization based on market requirements," says our Director Sales, Sebastian Pohl.

Solution for on-site service requests

With Marko Wittich, we have been able to gain a very competent CEO for the new service organization, who will manage customer projects and customer requests directly on site. Marko Wittich is familiar with the local market, as he has many years of experience in the B2B business, including as General Manager of SMA America and as the manager responsible for Dräger Safety AG in the regions of Europe, North and Central America, Africa and South America. "With our direct local presence in the form of a sales and service company, we will be able to serve our customers even more closely and better than before," says Wittich. "The issue of service is particularly important here, i.e. being on site with the customer to maintain systems and solve service requests or problems."
