Suitable filling processes for drum filling
Below bunghole filling
Specially developed for filling into lidded drums, this process is suitable for non-foaming and viscous products. It enables precise and safe filling by introducing the liquid directly through the bunghole.
Above level filling
Recommended for non-foaming products and low viscosity liquids filled into bunghole containers. This process is particularly suitable for products that do not have any special safety requirements and for which avoiding foam formation is not important.
Below level filling
Ideal for filling foaming products and for situations where explosive gases can be released. With this process, the liquid exits just below the liquid surface, which minimizes the formation of foam and prevents electrostatic charges.
GREIF-VELOX solutions for
drum filling
A-DOS-FS
The A-DOS-FS offers a comprehensive solution for automated drum filling with a capacity of up to 35 drums per hour.
Your work process includes automatically feeding the drums to the filling station, where the bunghole is automatically centered.
This ensures accurate alignment for the subsequent step of opening, inerting, filling and finally capping and clinching, all in a single station.
Once these processes have been completed, the drums are automatically transported further.
Advantages
Automatic drum transport technology and opening technology as well as closing technology from a single source, which makes the filling process efficient and user-friendly.
Suitable for a variety of different liquid properties.
Highly adaptable to different container types, including the ability to fill foaming products and substances for hazardous areas.
Tailor-made solutions that can be adapted to local conditions, as well as delivery of the system technology in a closed housing for additional protection and security.
Options
Additional safety devices such as inerting, overfill shut-off or collecting trays.
Ability to increase automation with modular systems including controlled valve lift or automatic valve base height adjustment.
Good cleaning ability of the parts in contact with the product and availability of special cleaning equipment.
Available in stainless steel and special wetted parts materials to meet industry standards and hygiene requirements.
Integration into the customer's product feed and integration into the customer's control systems, which enables seamless integration into existing production lines.
Fully automatic portal filling system A-DOS-P1
The A-DOS-P1 is a fully automatic portal filling system developed for filling liquids into drums. With a capacity of up to 40 drums (200 l) per hour, the system offers a highly efficient and safe solution for the chemical and petrochemical industries as well as for the food and building materials sectors. The drums are automatically fed, opened, filled, closed and palletized.
Advantages
Flexibility and adaptability: Suitable for a wide range of liquids, including foaming substances and adaptable for use in Ex areas Zone 1. The System offers high flexibility in the types of containers that can be filled.
Environmental protection and safety: Integrated inerting and overfill shutdown minimize the risk of environmental damage and protect employees.
Automation: The entire filling process is automated, which increases efficiency and reduces the error rate.
Options
Extended safety features: Additional safety devices such as inerting, overfill shutdown or drip trays.
Higher automation: Adjustments such as controlled valve upward movement or motorized valve base height adjustment.
Special equipment and material selection: Available in stainless steel and with special materials for product-contact parts.
Integration and customization Possibility of customization to customer-side product feeders and integration into customer-side control systems.
